WalMart Adds Pressure On Toxics Overhaul

1. The Article

4. The article is concerning a possible bill that will improve individuals' and families' well being.

5. If WalMart is making the move to remove chemicals from its products before other retailers it means it is an issue and this removal of harsh chemicals, which have been linked to cancer and fertility problems as well as other health issues, will only benefit the well being of our population. WalMart is the largest retailer in the world and the might be doing this for other reasons, so people don't see them as the bad guys, but hopefully many other major retailers will start doing the same and remove more harsh chemicals and perhaps not just 10.

6. I actually feel slightly better about WalMart, although I still avoid it at all costs, but I think this is a small step towards safer products especially for products we ingest. Beauty products, especially, are filled with harsh chemicals and most consumers are not aware because they don't know what is in them, no one reads makeup labels like some of us do. If this retail giant continued to remove other harmful ingredients from its products many retailers would follow and the general public would benefit greatly.
